Mayor Hau Lung-bin attended a press event on May 22 to announce the establishment of tablet computer recycling centers. The event was organized by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). In response to city councilors’ concerns that cyclists have been violating traffic codes by riding on pedestrian walkways, Taipei City Traffic Engineering Office (TEO) reiterated that bicycles are regarded as ‘slow vehicles’ under existing traffic regulations and should follow related rules.
