Energy Saving Campaign Kicks off with Grand Prize of NT$1 Million

To promote energy conservation, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is launching the annual campaign which encourages households in Taipei to save as much electricity as possible to win money prizes.

Now in its fourth year, the campaign calls out for households whose electricity bill of any month between May and October in 2012 reads a 5% (or more) reduction of energy compared to that in the same period last year to sign up.

Qualified households will be eligible to enter a raffle when the family members dispatch their electricity bills to the organizer at Post Office BOX 49-55 Taipei (臺北郵政第49-55號信箱). Please note that the name, address, and contact number of the participant must be enclosed in the mail.

According to DEP, the grand prize for this year is NT$1 million; other prizes range from NT$100,000 (x1), NT$50,000 (x3), NT$20,000 (x5), NT$10,000 (x10), NT$5,000 (x50), NT$3,000 (x100), to six air conditioning units provided by Hitachi Appliances.
