Wanle Public Housing Gets Facelift

Mayor Hau Lung-bin paid an inspection visit to Wanle public rental housing complex on April 26 to see the progress of works giving the units an exterior overhaul.

He noted that the government has set aside a NT$380 million fund and will continue with its efforts to refurbish public housing buildings, providing dwellers with an agreeable living environment.

According to Hau, facelift projects for old buildings are becoming more and more commonplace. It is part of the broader urban renewal strategy that seeks to beautify the city landscape, enhance living quality, and promote sustainable buildings.

The mayor pointed out that Department of Urban Development (DUD) launched the Wanle housing exterior beautification program last year as a first step. In the future, professional property management groups will be involved as a way of improving operations and services for Wanle and other city-owned rental housings; the framework will mirror those in place for Dalongdong Public Housing.

Apart from thanking all the Wanle tenants for their support and patience in putting up with the inconveniences caused by construction works, Hau also promised them no adjustments in rates following the completion of facelift works.
