DED to Hold Carnival Sale at Civic Plaza

The Department of Economic Development (DED) is pairing up with Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, to hold a grand sale at the Civic Plaza in front of Taipei City Hall on April 28 and 29.

Now in its third year, the event features an outdoor fair of 500 stalls offering a variety of local products from a number of municipalities across the island. The vendors involved range from bakery, digital life, cultural & creative industry, dining, beauty & fashion, to health promotion.

Not only will the carnival bring together some of Taiwan’s household-name enterprises, but it will also seek to recreate scenes from famous TV dramas with the participation of stores which have appeared in the productions.

Over the years, agencies across different levels of public government have endeavored to market specialty products from municipalities through partnership with the private sector. Through events like this, DED and SMEA aim to boost the exposure of participating stores, helping to drive industry development.

The organizers believe that the sale event will increase commercial opportunities and add to the glamour of this tourist hotspot known for department store complexes and trademarks such as Taipei 101 and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
